riding shanghai

shortly before i left Germany in June i got myself a sexy new ride. A Nature Boy. We’ve been riding Shanghai and it is by far the fastest way of getting anywhere. A taxi achieves an average speed of 15km/hr, the subway is crowded and people are pushy – nevermind the endless walks to interchange lines. So riding your bike is unbeatable.

There are a few great rides around the city, my favourite thus far being the one up to Suzhou Creek, down the Huangpu river to the bund, following the bund all the way south and then back up into the French concession on Wulumuqi or Rujin Road.
All this then of course needs to be topped off at my local Irish Pub on Dongping Road with a Guinness that comes with a shot of black currant syrup.

parked.
