OMG! Guys! Where on earth was I that I didn’t realize the bliss of listening to a podcast until last weekend?

I am ashamed to admit it but it took me 34 years a few years to catch on to this delightful distraction. (Or maybe we only count since Serial took over the world in 2015, so I am a year late.. fine!)

I packed up to travel back to Shanghai last Sunday and I was looking for in-flight entertainment and for the first time ever opened the podcast APP on my phone. The magical world of podcasts opened up.

Through searching for my favorite people and blogs I ended up with a bunch of different shows to listen to and here are the ones I recommend for your next audio adventure:

  • Garance Doré’s Pardon My French
  • Girlboss Radio with Sophia Amurosa
  • Funny Lady Filmclub
  • Oh Boy by Man Repeller
  • All of these are driven by women who have made an impact.

Garance Doré writes hands down my favorite blog and her authenticity and realness make me feel like I know her. Because that’s normal. In her podcast, she sits down with her studio employees and discussed everything from dogs to friendship to life in New York and sex.

Nasty Gal founder Amurosa spends a few minutes being silly with her BFF, before then interviewing inspiring women who have had an impact on business.

The Funny Lady Filmclub is downright funny, relatable and hugely nerdy. Many of the movies and also TV shows discussed are familiar and they always portray a framework for the talk, yet the two tend to get off topic easily and it’s one hilarious affair. After all, these are the girls from SRSLY.

Leandra Medine from the Man Repeller might ring a bell. She has been around taking on fashion with a vengeance and a solid sense of humor. The podcast is run by Filmmaker Jay Buim. He sits down with women in the arts, tech and beyond for one on one conversations about their life and work. Inspiring!
