read * Jack Kerouac – On The Road

I had bought this classic a while ago and read it step by step, with other books in between. That may sound like the book isn’t all that great – Not True. I have been struggling to keep focus on one thing at a time, which I guess is either a sign of old age or the impatience of a young gun. I’ll stick to the latter and highly recommend you to read this book. It’s the defining classic of the beat generation and if you have a remote liking for sex, drugs and rock ‘n roll, and – most importantly – road-trips, this is your kind of book.

Jack Kerouac takes you on to the road. Sal, a writer, and his best, yet slightly crazy, friend Dean travel all across the United States. Several Times. Hitch-hiking, with their own car, with random strangers and eventually even all the way to Mexico. It’s exhilarating, fast paced and exciting. And I was hoping to travel with them for a while!

In case you’re the “I don’t read books” kind of person, don’t fret, there is a movie coming out shortly.
