the last book I read over my Christmas vacation was The Art of Fielding.
As you may or may not recall, I was somewhere between surprised and appalled that I hadn’t read any of the NYTimes’ must reads of 2011:
i didn’t read any of these?! RT “@nytimesbooks: 10 Best Books of 2011 nyti.ms/vvZEwj”

Santa Claus then got me the number one of that list: The Art of Fielding.
It’s an all-American novel on dreaming big and failing miserably. On everything being possible, on giving it your all, on taking one for the team and on small town mindsets and great minds.
It’s a clever book that I finished within 2 days. And it’s about baseball – if you can’t stand the game besides singing ‘Take me out to the ballpark’ this isn’t for you.
